This article in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel“Sky’s the limit for ‘green roof’ advocate” posted November 28, 2004 by Whitney Gould talks about Rocky Marcoux, head of the Milwaukee Department of City Development, and his campaign for green roofs. The city is committed to greening public housing units throughout the city. The first project, Highland Gardens, has an extensive roof, but other projects in the future will feature an intensive roof that residents can use. Smart Growth also discusses Milwaukee’s intentions in “Milwaukee Will Encourage Green Roofs for Stormwater Management as Part of Sustainable Development Initiative”.
